The Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD) is a museum network that brings together 15 museums with, in 2024, over 2.3 million visitors. The GRASSI Museum für Völkerkunde zu Leipzig, the Museum für Völkerkunde Dresden and the Völkerkundemuseum Herrnhut form the State Ethnographic Collections of Saxony (SES).
Together, these three museums have one of the most extensive and important ethnographic collections in Europe.
In order to position themselves in the international context of fundamental changes in the ethnological museum landscape, the SES are working on new concepts for exhibitions, events and education as well as interdisciplinary research programmes.
The Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden are looking to appoint a Director of the Ethnographic Collections Saxony.
