The tree Kogi belongings had been on loan in Bogotá since October 2024 as part of a collaborative exchange to facilitate their restitution. The return follows the repatriation of two ritual masks in 2023. Research identified the three additional objects as integral to the same ritual practices.
Originally brought to Berlin by ethnologist Konrad Theodor Preuss during his research in Colombia between 1913 and 1919, these belongings were part of a broader documentation of Kogi oral traditions, myths, and chants.
