Encounters. Collaborative Approaches to Heritage in Latin America and the Caribbean – CfP

The Latin America and the Caribbean chapter of the Association of Critical Heritage Studies (LAC-ACHS), together with Centro de Patrimonio Cultural and Núcleo Milenio Nupats of Universidad Católica de Chile and the Department of Arts and Culture Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam, warmly invites abstracts for its inaugural conference “Encounters. Collaborative Approaches to Heritage in Latin America and the Caribbean”.

Abstracts may be submitted until August 31.

The conference will take place on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, in Santiago de Chile (Universidad Católica de Chile, Campus Lo Contador) and online. Conference attendance is free of charge upon registration.

The conference will explore how collaborative practices are understood and implemented across diverse disciplines and approaches, while also encouraging the emergence of new partnerships among researchers working in and on Latin America and the Caribbean. Under the theme “Encuentros”, this conference aims to create a space for meeting, dialogue, and reflection on heritage encounters as a way to rethink heritage as a dialogical and situated practice grounded in local knowledge systems.
