The theme “Feeding the Fire: Advancing the Movement” builds on the momentum of past Repatriation Conferences and will provide a virtual space to exchange strategies, sharpen skills, share tools, build community, and chart clear pathways forward.
The Conference addresses the full scope of repatriation work today by pairing leadership grounded in relationship, with actionable guidance. Programming includes living traditional knowledge and healing-centered practices; Native-led international repatriation strategies; in-depth training on the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA); and forward-looking sessions on data sovereignty, Native Nation-directed research, and reshaping institutional practice beyond compliance.
In a time of shrinking budgets, limited staff, and compounding responsibilities, this work often falls on the shoulders of a few who do more with less. From strategizing for legal reforms to trainings, we are not just reacting—we are advancing.
