Large groups are systematically forgotten. International institutions respond to places with a strong migrant presence, which is a relatively recent phenomenon in Spain.
But that doesn’t mean they didn’t exist [here], and we have to recognize what there was and see what we can do with it.
It seems clear that, in Spain’s case, settling accounts with the colonial past is an unresolved issue.
