In exploring restitution we consider:
- restitution requests to museums
- regimes of value and authority across academic and political landscapes
- different worldviews that shape claims and decisions
- how a ‘case by case’ basis might ignore assumptions and the inherent asymmetries in approaches that are presented as neutral, such as provenance research, stakeholder mapping, legal regimes, valuations, or conservation reports
