IRIN Session on national guidelines and policy

This session will focus on national guidelines and policy, bringing together perspectives from the Netherlands, Germany, England/UK, and Japan.

Through a comparative discussion, we will explore how broad principles are translated into procedures, criteria, provenance research, and decision-making — as well as who participates in shaping these systems.

We are delighted to be joined by:

• Laura Van Broekhoven, Pitt Rivers Museum, University of Oxford
• Larissa Förster, Weltkulturen Museum, Frankfurt
• Meghan Backhouse, National Museums Liverpool
• Hirofumi Kato, Center for Ainu and Indigenous Studies, Hokkaido University
• Abeer Eladany, University of Aberdeen, who will moderate the discussion
